How to Install a PVC Skirting Board?
1. Prepare the Surface
Thoroughly clean the surfaces where the skirting board will be installed to remove dirt and dust. Then, degrease them with an appropriate cleaner and leave them to dry completely. This step is crucial for a durable and aesthetically pleasing final result.
2. Adjust the Length
Measure the required length of the skirting board and cut it to the desired size. You can use the QUEST® upholsterer's knife or scissors for cutting. In the corners, make precise cuts at a 45° angle so that the skirting boards fit perfectly together and create a seamless joint.
3. Install the Skirting Board
Use PVC mounting and finishing adhesive. Firmly press the skirting board along its entire length, paying special attention to the edges and corners. Even pressure will ensure a stable and long-lasting hold.
Gently warm the strip with warm air from a hair dryer to increase its flexibility and adhesion. (max. temperature 80°C)
4. Done!
Once installed, the skirting board is immediately ready for use. No drying time or additional finishing is required.
Tip:
Perform the installation on clean, smooth surfaces, and at temperatures above 16 °C. Proper environmental conditions improve the adhesive bond and enhance the durability of the installation.

Installation instructions for soft PVC skirting board
- Installation should be carried out at room temperature, not lower than 16°C.
- Before installation, leave the skirting board in the room where it will be mounted for approximately 1-2 hours.
- Before installation, clean, degrease, and dry the bonding surface.
- Cut the skirting board to the exact length using scissors or a knife.
- Apply mounting adhesive according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions or use QUEST® adhesive tape by applying 2 strips of adhesive on the wider surface of the skirting board.
- Press firmly against the wall.
Important information:
- Moist wall or floor surfaces significantly reduce mounting strength.
- For the application of our products, the surface should be smooth and well-cleaned (degreased). In the case of uneven, porous, or textured surfaces (e.g., "lamb" texture), a stronger PVC mounting contact adhesive should be used.
