How to install a PVC quarter‑round trim strip?
Surface preparation
- The floor and the wall must be clean, dry and free of dust or greasy stains.
- Cut the quarter‑round trim to the appropriate length, adjusting it to the edge of the room.
Mounting the quarter‑round trim
- Apply mounting adhesive to the back of the strip or use double‑sided mounting tape.
- Press the strip against the floor–wall joint and press firmly so it adheres well.
- Leave it for several hours to allow the adhesive to set and the strip to become stable.
Installing the floor covering
- Gently tuck the edge of the floor covering into the groove/onto the strip profile, so that the covering rests on the quarter‑round profile and lies smoothly against the wall.
- If the floor covering is oversized, you can additionally use contact adhesive or double‑sided tape along the strip, so that the edge does not curl up and stays well secured.
- Check that the floor covering lies evenly along the entire length of the strip and that the profile transitions smoothly into the floor.
Finishing
If necessary, press the floor covering and strip with a roller so that the edge is perfectly flush and visually neat.
