Installation of the PVC handrail profile
- Prepare the handrail– clean the flat bar from dirt, paint residues and irregularities. The surface should be smooth and dry.
- Heat the profile– immerse the railing strip in water at a temperature of approximately 60–80°C10–15 minutes. This will make the PVC material more flexible.
- Create a profile– apply the cladding gradually, in short sections, starting from the top of the handrail. If necessary, use a flat metal tool to make it easier to slide the profile onto the flat bar.
- Adjust on curves– for curves, gently heat the inner side of the profile with warm air from the dryer. Do not stretch the strip during installation.
- Cut to appropriate length– leave approx3–5 cm of reserveand wait10–15 minutesuntil the profile cools down completely. Then cut off the excess with PVC shears or a plastic saw.
- Finish– optionally, use profile closing elements that aesthetically and safely close the strip.
Important information before installation

Do not stretch the profile– the handrail strip should not be stretched during installation, because after the PVC cools down, it will return to its original length.

Heat the profile on the bends– when installing on rounded sections, it is worth warming the inner side of the profile with warm air from the dryer to facilitate its adjustment.

Leave a supply of material– due to the natural shrinkage of PVC, leave approx3–5 cmexcess and trim the profile only after it has cooled down completely.

Installation – how to install a PVC handrail profile?
The handrail profile is made of PVC – a material that is flexible and retains its shape, making it (after heating) elastic enough to be easily mounted even on a curved flat bar. Once cooled, it returns to its original shape.
- Clean the flat bar – its surface should be clean and smooth.
- To make installation easier, place the profile in a container with warm water for about 10–15 minutes before mounting it.
- Mount the profile gradually – in small sections, starting from the top. To facilitate the installation, you can use a metal tool such as a flat rod or spatula to evenly position the profile on the flat bar.
- Once cooled (10–15 minutes), you can cut off the excess profile using special scissors (QUEST) or a plastic saw.
Note:
- The handrail profile should be installed on a properly prepared flat bar, whose surface must be clean and smooth, free from thick layers of paint, protrusions, and irregularities caused by welding.
- The profile must not be stretched in length, as it will return to its original shape and length once cooled.
- Installation on curves may require additional heating of the profile on the inner side to make installation easier – use a stream of warm air from a hairdryer for this purpose.
- Due to material shrinkage, it is recommended to leave a longer section at the end – about 3–5 cm. Only after complete cooling should you cut it to the correct length.
